Pesticide Applicator Training

Basic safety and handling rules for pesticide use is required by all pesticide applicators. Pesticide applicator certification and training helps protect the general public, the environment and the applicator himself.

NYCAMH has been involved in the pesticide applicator training providing information in the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). NYCAMH can provide services for applicators such as proper fit testing of respirators, proper PPE selection, and purchasing PPE.

Farmers with tax exempt status can receive respirator fit testing at no cost by contacting NYCAMH. Coordination of respirator fit testing service is based on farmer location and number of people. PPE can also be purchased at a discount for farmers; for more information, check the NYCAMH PPE catalog or call NYCAMH at 800.343.7527.

For more information about the pesticide applicator certification training program contact the Cooperative Extension in your county.
